The Road Safety Cricket Cup initiative.
A one-day event ‘Road Safety Cricket Cup’ to spread awareness and social message about road safety and precautions. The event was organised by The Board for Veteran Cricket in India (Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, New Delhi). The event was held in Pune at Shivajinagar Police Ground.
This noble initiative was conceptualised by Meehir Kulkarni and was enthusiastically supported by the then Police Commissioner, Pune, Amitabh Gupta, Pune Municipal Commissioner, Vikram Kumar, Assistant Charity Commissioner, Rahul Chavan, and their colleagues.
The match was played between the Raging Lions (Pune Police), Under the captaincy of Gupta and SkyHawks (Pune Municipal Corporation) led by Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar and all the players put up a good show..
